Gary D. Mendelson is a 30+ year veteran in the technology sector. He started his career working for Digital Equipment Corporation and quickly recognized that while customers bought his hardware willingly, they did so to solve business problems and that is where his passion began for software and providing outstanding customer service.

Gary has a wide and deep level of experience within core industries such as financial services, banking, insurance, telecommunications, and regulated utilities which he has provided solutions to for many years. He describes himself as unique balance of finding new customers via creative means (sales hunter) with analytical business case development skills plus outstanding customer references.

For the last 12 years, Gary has been helping his customers bring new products to market faster with higher quality and at a reduced cost.

His business passions include: building better software, faster, and more predictably, providing un-paralleled levels of customer service, helping quantify and qualify the business and financial value they will get from an investment in his company.

His personal passions include his wife of 34 years and his two children, Sara Rose and Steven, bicycling, home renovation and being a savvy consumer.

Chris Rapley   Chris Rapley, Manager of Branch Operations, The Select Group

Chris Rapley has been with The Select Group for the last 4.5 years, joining in June 2010. After graduating from the University of North Carolina Wilmington, he accepted a role as a Technical Recruiter when the company only had 34 employees nationwide. In the last 4 years, Chris has moved from Recruiter to Account Manager and most recently into his role as Manager of Branch Operations where he oversees the sales and recruiting in the Raleigh office, which is The Select Group’s national headquarters where they now have 180 employees in 8 offices nationwide.

Dan Minto   Dan Minto, CEO, DB Global Technology Inc.

Daniel Minto, is the CEO of DB Global Technology Inc., a subsidiary of Deutsche Bank that develops proprietary software solutions for the bank. Prior to Deutsche Bank, Dan was a Senior Vice President and Division Manager of Research and Development at SAS Institute Inc. He lead a global team of over 800, engineers, statisticians and testers in the development and manufacturing of business oriented software solution focused on Banking, Performance Management, Manufacturing, Information Technology, Retail and Communications. Dan has led several Technical acquisitions for SAS. As a speaker and educator, he has addressed top engineering Schools, on Analytics and Business Transformation, both in the United States and internationally. Dan serves on the board of directors for the North Carolina Technology Association, and is a leader in STEM legislation across the state.

Prior to joining SAS, Dan held senior leadership positions at Raytheon, AT&T and GTE. He has been in the information technology space for over 30 years, and holds undergraduate degrees from Averett University and a Graduate degree (MBA/MSEE) from Wake Forest University. Dan served in the United States Air Force and is the recipient of the numerous medals and honors. In his spare time, Dan is an avid pilot, and volunteers his time and services to help people who are in need of critical medical air transportation.

Brad Lienhart is the co-founder and Director of Operations of EntreDot. Prior to EntreDot, Brad worked for the Dow Chemical company for 27 years and was involved with business commercialization and supply chain management functions in a senior executive role. He has also served as an adviser and consultant to a number of closely held businesses from startups to turnarounds. Amy Howard is the owner Amy’s Web Design serving Raleigh & Cary, North Carolina area. Amy works with small businesses and entrepreneurs to help them create an online presence that sells. She specializes in working with WordPress and loves teaching others how to use the popular website platform, helping small business save money on website maintenance costs.

Amy Howard is a seasoned marketer who happened to have joined the US Army right out of high school and served eight years. After exiting the Army, Amy found herself working in the home security industry. In 1997, Amy tested for and received her Florida state license as a Certified Alarm System Contractor. Beginning in 2003, she became an entrepreneur and immersed herself in sales and marketing techniques and has been running her own business ever since. Amy started Amy’s Web Design during the summer of 2011 so that she could help fellow entrepreneurs successfully market their products and services online.

Richard Matthews   Rick Matthews, Partner, Williams Mullen

Rick Matthews concentrates his practice on intellectual property matters including patent, trademark, copyright, licensing and related litigation. He has represented companies in intellectual property disputes in over thirty-five states, including as a first-chair trial attorney and in bet-the-company litigation. He has extensive experience in handling every aspect of litigation through trial and appeal. His cases have spanned federal courts across the country and before the ITC, TTAB, Federal Circuit, and Supreme Court.
                                           
While Rick has been practicing patent law since 2003, he is also a Board Certified Specialist in Trademark Law. He has been recognized by a number of publications, having been named a “Rising Star” in Intellectual Property Law by North Carolina Super Lawyers magazine, included in Business North Carolina magazine’s list of “Legal Elite,” and named among the Top 40 Lawyers Under 40 in Intellectual Property for North Carolina by the American Society of Legal Advocates.
 
Rick is licensed to practice law in North Carolina, Virginia and the District of Columbia, and is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Rick received a B.S. in Chemistry with a focus in Biochemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a J.D. from the Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law, and a Masters of Law degree in Intellectual Property Law from The George Washington University Law School. He clerked in the ITC’s Office of Unfair Import Investigation, focusing on Section 337 patent cases. In addition, he interned at the U.S. Court of Federal Claims for the Honorable Judge Susan G. Braden.
